This morning, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at The Studios @ Central Middle School to celebrate the opening of the new Wyandotte/Central track and community park. This project was a combined effort between Oroville City Elementary School District and the City of Oroville. Dignitaries from the City of Oroville, the community, OCESD and BCOE, as well as a group of very polite, middle school students were on hand. There was also a special performance by the middle school band. The new track is asphalt with a solar-reflective painted surface to reduce the temperature for those who use it. Students from Wyandotte Academy, Sierra Del Oro Inclusive Preschool and The Studios @ Central Middle School will be able to use the track during the schooldays and the community will be able to use the track/park in the evenings and weekends via a gate on Wyandotte Avenue.
