🎉 Exciting News from Wyandotte Academy! 🛝💙

Today, we celebrated the Grand Opening of our brand-new playground equipment — and what an incredible day it was!

Students laughed, played, and explored their new space with huge smiles and endless energy. This beautiful new addition will bring joy, creativity, and active play to our campus for years to come! 🥳

Special thanks to our amazing Maintenance Operations and Facilities Department for working tirelessly to bring this project to life. Your hard work and dedication made today’s celebration possible — and we are so grateful! 💪👏

🐺 Always a great day to be a Wyandotte Wolf! 🐺

Good Health equals good attendance. Picture of nurse with a child.

🗓️ September is Attendance Awareness Month! 🎉
Did you know each student gets 10 sick days per school year? After 10 sick days, a doctor’s note will be required to excuse additional sick days. 🩺
Regular attendance is one of the biggest keys to student success! 📚✨
Let’s work together to:
✅ Celebrate great attendance
✅ Understand the impact of missed days
✅ Support students and families to stay engaged
✅ Foster great communication between school and families when students are out

👏 Honoring a True Lifesaver | Board Recognition – Sept 17 Meeting

At our September 17 Board Meeting, Oroville City Elementary School District proudly recognized Amanda Perez, Kindergarten teacher at Ophir Elementary, for her life-saving actions when a student began choking in her classroom.

Ms. Perez’s quick thinking and calm response in a critical moment prevented a tragedy and ensured the student’s safety. Her bravery and care exemplify the very best of what it means to be an educator.

We are beyond grateful to have Ms. Perez as part of our OCESD family. 💛🍎
